Gather Your Supplies
Let's take a look at what goes into creating these eggcellent chocolatey masterpieces
- 185g unsalted butter: Provides a rich, buttery base for our brownie.
- 185g best dark chocolate: The star of the show, lending a deep, indulgent flavour.
- 85g plain flour: Gives our brownie structure and texture.
- 40g cocoa powder: Adds extra chocolatey goodness.
- 3 large eggs: Bind everything together for a moist, cake-like consistency.
- 275g golden caster sugar: Sweetens perfectly.
- 6 Cadbury's Creme Eggs, cut in half: The surprise inside that adds gooey delight.
Let's get baking!
Once you’ve assembled your ingredients its time to get cracking!
- Preheat your oven: Set it to 180°C (160°C fan) or gas mark 4. Line a baking tray (about 20x30cm) with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and chocolate: In a bowl, melt the unsalted butter and dark chocolate until smooth.
- Mix dry ingredients: Sift together the plain flour and cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
- Whisk eggs and sugar: In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and golden caster sugar until fluffy.
- Combine wet and dry: Gradually fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar mixture.
- Incorporate dry ingredients: Gently fold in the flour and cocoa powder until smooth.
- Assemble: Pour the batter into the prepared tray, spreading it evenly.
- Add Creme Eggs: Nestle the halved Cadbury's Creme Eggs into the batter (try not to eat them before this step!)
- Bake to perfection: Pop it in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until set around the edges but still slightly gooey in the centre.
- Cool and serve: Let it cool in the tray before cutting into squares and ENJOY!
