Battle Proms at Blenheim - 14th July 2012

Picture a balmy summer evening with friends, sublime music, daring horsemen, fantastic fireworks, cannon fire and even a breathtaking Spitfire display.  This is now one of the most distinct and comprehensive concert programmes in the UK; this is an exceptional evening not to be missed!T

The 'Battle' in the concert name refers to the unique performance of Beethoven's 'Battle Symphony' - a powerful piece of music which was composed to include 193 live firing cannons as part of the score.  This is the only concert series in the world to perform Beethoven's most ambitious piece with its full complement of thunderous percussion. A big screen will be displaying all the action from the cavalry, cannons, and stage so you never have to leave your seat!

WOMAD - 23rd-25th July 2010

WOMAD - World of Music, Arts and Dance the internationally established Festival, which brings together artists from all over the globe. The central aim of the WOMAD festival is to celebrate the world's many forms of music, arts and dance.The festival returns to the picturesque site at Charlton Park, near Malmesbury in Wiltshire. The full line-up will feature around 100 artists from 40 countries performing over the festival weekend. There's also a full program of adult and children’s workshops a cabaret tent, fun fair, comedy, DJ sessions and live performances.

The festival returns for it's 36th year with over 80 real ales, beers, ciders, perries, free soft drinks for drivers and all sorts of live entertainment and food available.
